Honing Journalism Skills, PAI Student Association Unismuh Holds Journalist Training

UNISMUH. AC. ID MAKASSAR – The Student Association of the Islamic Education Department (HMJ PAI) held a Journalist Training with the theme "Citizen Journalism: The Urgency of Journalistic Skills in the 5.0 Era." The event was held in the FAI Hall, 4th Floor, Unismuh Makassar.

The Journalist Training consisted of three sessions, namely Thursday (October 5th), Tuesday (October 10th), and Thursday (October 12th). A total of 48 participants were recorded, consisting of HMJ PAI officials, PAI students, and external PAI students.

The Journalist Training aims to provide basic understanding and knowledge about journalism. As stated by the Chairman of HMJ PAI, Fathurahman, "One of the goals of this period is for HMJ PAI to have its own website, but we are aware that before that, we must prepare excellent human resources who can manage it well. Therefore, this activity is hoped to produce excellent human resources in the field of journalism."

The Journalist Training featured 3 speakers invited by HMJ PAI, namely M. Yusuf K, Muh Ishak Agus, and Hadi Saputra, M.Si.

In the first session, participants were provided with materials on Literature Study, which is the initial stage for understanding basic theoretical concepts. In the second session, they discussed Investigative and Reporting techniques to gain a deeper understanding of collecting, processing, and providing information related to an event. In the final session, they discussed Writing and Reporting News, which is an important process in journalism involving the collection, arrangement, and delivery of information.

To facilitate learning, the participants were divided into 9 groups. Each group was given an initial theme for discussion. From the theme, they would produce a news article or opinion with accurate data.
