Joint Collaboration: PAI HMJ Unismuh and PMM Batch 3 Distribute Basic Necessities to Taeng Village Residents
UNISMUH.AC.ID, GOWA – The Faculty of Islamic Education Student Association (HMJ PAI) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar, in collaboration with participants of the Merdeka Student Exchange Program (PMM) Batch 3 of Kampus Merdeka, held a Social Contribution activity in Taeng Village on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
This social contribution activity is part of the PMM student program, aimed at providing a positive impact on the community of Taeng Village.
Mursyid Fikri, SPdI, MH, as the lecturer for PMM Module 3 at Unismuh Makassar, stated that we are grateful that the PMM social contribution activity can be carried out, and this is part of the mandate from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology through the PMM program.
"As a module lecturer, we chose to implement the social contribution program with a focus on the Waste Picker commodity in Gowa Regency, as a motivation for children in the village to remain enthusiastic and understand the importance of education," he said.
Furthermore, he added that "The future of this nation's progress lies in the hands of the current generation. I also want to express pride to HMJ PAI for maintaining this commodity as a Village under Supervision.
"Therefore, the PMM social contribution activity can run smoothly, PMM students and HMJ PAI provide social assistance in the form of basic necessities and daily needs to those in need, and some students provide tutoring in the learning process for children in the village. The purpose of this activity is to motivate and inspire the youth of the village to continue pursuing education," he added.
Meanwhile, Fathurahman, as the Chairman of HMJ PAI, stated that "We are very grateful that this collaboration can be realized. This is not only a source of motivation for us but also for the local community.
"I would like to thank everyone involved in this sharing activity, especially the PMM friends. The people of Taeng Village responded warmly and gratefully to this activity, they expressed their appreciation to the PMM students and HMJ PAI for their concern for the condition of the village community and for contributing to the common welfare," he said.
